What is an Uncontested Divorce?
An uncontested divorce or a non contested divorce in Alabama is where the parties agree upon everything such as:
- division of assets
- child custody
- child visitation
- child support
This agreement is put in writing. The divorce agreement, along with other necessary paperwork, is filed with the court. In about 45 to 60 days, the judge will grant your divorce by signing your judgement of divorce. With an uncontested divorce, the parties do not have to go to court.
